There is next to nothing in West Mifflin except Kennywood and a few businesses at the bottom of the hill--It really is taking advantage of the business----so similar to how CP is now being treated.
Kennywood would only benifit from moving to a better location--they would probably be able to obtain more room and move Sand Castle at the same time an really make it a destination--heck--why not add a hotel.

The problem I (and most Kennywood fans) have with the park moving is that all of the big roller coasters (PR, Thunderbolt, Jackrabbit and Racer) are custom-fitted to the terrain they're on. If they moved (which will probably never happen anyways), it would steal some the uniqueness and charm of the park. However, it would be nice not to drive through the ghetto that is West Mifflin (as well as Rankin).

You cant move rides like The Thunderbolt or Jackrabbit, as their custom built for that terrain

Aww--didn't think about that----big DUH on my part. I was wondering if they could move some of the rides becuase they are historic landmarks, but, it doens't seem like an issue now.

Sounds like most governments these days, milk people for all you can.
I think I'd sue them as well.

It's not a matter of moving the park. It's a matter of moving the politicians in that county, city, or borough. It's also a good idea to convince those powers that there are other ways to take advantage of an attraction in your town besides taxing it. I always have to goto Pittsburgh to get something of quality to eat when I am in that neck of the woods. They should build restaurants. Hotels are limited in that area, I always stay in Greensburg. They are driving the guests out of their town by not having anything. It's a typical approach. Why develop when you can live off the gravy train?
