Posted at 4:17 PM EST (2117 GMT) Jan. 27th, 2005 -- It's happened for the past nineteen years, but it won't this year. Disney has abandoned plans for the star of the Super Bowl to do promotional advertisements proclaiming "I'm going to Disney World!".
Former New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms was the first to utter the phrase after the 1987 Super Bowl. It quickly became a pop culture fixture after every Super Bowl game. While America's top theme park has cut out the ad this year, they have not ruled out bringing in back in 2006 or the near future. For more information and a list of who has been involved in the advertisements in the past, visit FOXSports.com.
