News: Cedar Point picks new general manager

Feb. 25th, 2005 -- John Hildebrandt, vice president and general manager of Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom since May 2004, will assume the position of Cedar Point's vice president and general manager.

He is replacing Daniel Keller, who announced his retirement as VP and GM of Cedar Point effective next month.

Hildebrandt has worked with Cedar Fair for 31 years. Before working at Dorney Park, he was the vice president of marketing at Cedar Point for more than 10 years.

Greg Scheid will take over Hildebrandt's Dorney Park position. Scheid has worked with Cedar Fair for around 15 years and was the head of merchandise and games at Cedar Point since 2001.

Well, I guess it's good that they're getting someone who is already familiar with park from having been there before.

I wouldn't. You'd have to be there all the time. There are other parks and other roller coasters and rides to get to, as well as all the fine rides at CP.

They seem to be changing the guard at the Point. They also seem to be doing it well. When's Kinzel's last day?
