Feb. 25th, 2005 -- A strike at Six Flags New England that began Feb. 3 is now over. 12 striking workers stopped picketing yesterday and plan to return to work on Monday. However, the employees vow that this is not the end of their efforts.
The workers first went on strike seeking to join a union, and now say they will petition the National Labor Relations Board to hold elections. The employees also went on strike to protest against treatment by Six Flags, including being forced to use their own vehicles to do their jobs and having their schedules shifted without notice. The strike was called off primarily because the workers would not be covered by the park's health insurance plan if they were not back to work by March 1. See The Republican for more.
