News: Noise an issue for Tivoli Gardens

Mar. 7th, 2005 -- Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, Denmark, is under pressure from its neighbors to scale back the amount of noise it produces. Several residents in the park's area have appealed to the Copenhagen City Council.

With a major source of the noise coming from the park's new Dæmonen roller coaster, some are asking the city to exert more control over the park's future expansions. Tivoli, however, says that any such measure will stunt any necessary development in the future. Neighbors also blame the park's Friday night rock concerts.

City Council is proposing a meeting to balance the needs of the park and nearby residents.

sfne stinks Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 10880 View Park/Ride Count	Well.... thats what happenes when you add a B&M coaster in a downtown city... I bet they make it close at like "8pm" or something now.,.. Like how other parks have to close some rides even before the park does.. (Bells?)

coasterdude28 Joined: Oct 2004 Posts: 3864 View Park/Ride Count	What happened to the good old days when people could live in harmony with their local parks? it is ashame so many people are complainng now. that park probably gives the city alot of money but they still have to complain. maybe they shoyuld build a large dome over the entire park.

bk2004 Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 7743 View Park/Ride Count	Is Dæmonen's supports filled with sand? Since Silver Bullet has been proven to be dead silent, I'm surprised they didn't make or even ask B&M to make Dæmonen as silent or as much as possible to where it's controlable.

DerMorgan Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 144 View Park/Ride Count	I've been to tivoli, (it's amazingly beautiful), and daemon is very quiet. what frustrates me is that there is no way any of the neighbors who are complaining have lived there longer than tivoli has been around. isn't it one of the oldest parks in the world? like sfft_2108 said, why move next to a park... and then complain about the noise??? you only have yourself to blame then.
