News: Double Shot prepares to blast off

Mar. 18th, 2005 -- Tomorrow, Double Shot, the newest ride at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, will launch riders 125 feet into the air. The twelve-story tower is the newest big thrill ride at the boardwalk since the Hurricane roller coaster opened in 1992.

The ride provides riders with a view of Monterey Bay as it generates forces up to 3 Gs. The boardwalk's vice president calls Double Shot "the perfect seaside ride" The admission-free park is celebrating its 98th anniversary this year.
