The Point Online (www.thepointol.com) reports on the many different changes at Cedar Point this season.
The Emporium in Frontier Town is being replaced with the Discount Depot. Discount Depot sells discounted and on-sale merchandise.
The Climbing Wall on the Gemini Midway has been removed and replaced with Hi-Striker, which was located on the Wicked Twister Midway in front of Space Spiral.
The Sky Ride West station is being refurbished to match its sister at the front of the park.
The new Live Entertainment shows this summer will be "Snoopy's Summer Vacation" at the Good Time Theatre, "Livin' In America" in the Centennial Theatre, "Rockin The Garter - LIVE" in the Red Garter, "Camp Snoopy Days" will be added to Camp Snoopy. This year the Splash! dive show will feature a gyroscope, along with other new features.
In addition, there have been the following staff changes:
- Steve Voorhies has been hired as Area Manager in Park Operations.
- Tim Boals has been hired as Director of Games and Merchandise.
- Tyler Adams has moved from Guest Services to Marketing.
- John Hildebrandt is the new Vice President and General Manager of Cedar Point.
