News: Aaaaay!! Happy Days comes to Carowinds

Posted at 10:22 AM EDT (1422 GMT)

Apr. 8th, 2005 -- Guests at Paramount's Carowinds can now get their fill of milk shakes, memories and memorabilia from the popular 1970’s show Happy Days.

The Happy Days Diner is now open at the amusement park that straddles the North and South Carolina border near Charlotte, NC.

The diner, which is essentially in the same building, that used to be Stan Makita’s (located in front of The Hurler Roller Coaster) was remodeled and new signage was added. As well as new memorabilia from or inspired by the show.

Happy Days stars "Mr. and Mrs. C" (Tom Bosley and Marion Ross) even made a guest appearance. They say the diner brings back fond memories.

Quoting the Happy Days stars, the news article said: “You’re in North Carolina, across the street from South Carolina and all of a sudden you walk into this place and you’re back on the Paramount lot again.”

The Happy Days Diner will serve burgers, fries, milk shakes and even apple pie.

Of course it wouldn’t be Happy Days without 50s music playing in the background. The new diner even features a "DJ Booth".

Paramount's Carowinds is open on weekends until May 15, when the park goes to daily operation.

ACErs as well as some members of ThrillNetwork got a preview of the Diner in late February.

That is the funniest headline I've seen here.

I wonder if this may be the start of a restaurant "chain" like Cedar Fair has with Coasters.
