Kings Island removes dead celeb display

Kings Island got rid of its dead celebrity display after some complaints.

The celebrities included Michael Jackson, Heath Ledger and NFL star Steve McNair. Kings Island spokesman Don Helbig said the park wasn’t trying to be distasteful.

Helbig said the park had a few complaints and decided to take down the display. It had not been open to the public.

Son of Beast closed for season

Son of Beast at Kings Island will remain closed for the rest of this season, the park said.

It could even be closed for longer. The ride was shut down in June after a woman claimed she was injured on the ride. The woman said she was injured in late May, but she didn’t report the injury until mid-June. She suffered a burst blood vessel in her head.

Kings Island closes coaster after man dies

The Firehawk roller coaster was closed after a man died on Saturday.

On Saturday, August 8, 2009 a man with breathing problems died after riding the Firehawk attraction at Kings Island in Ohio.

According to a press release from park spokesman Don Helbig, at 3:30 p.m. Firehawk ride attendants noticed an adult male passenger having problems breathing. Emergency medical staff were called immediately. The guest was then transported by the local fire department to an area hospital.
