2012 Coaster Draft

Using Super Bowl predictions we rank the order of the draft. Whoever choses the correct winner and is closest to the real score is first in the draft. It's then ranked by who are the players second, third, etc... to the final score of the game. Then those that chose the losing Super Bowl team are factored into the ranking.

Score predictions could be private messaged to myself and Antoine.

Don't forget about the tiebreaker? Used to be the half-time score. I mention it because it was needed in the past.

For the Super Bowl prediction a winner and final score is need. A halftime score also needs to be included as a tiebreaker in case there is a tie between you and another contestant for the winner and final score.

PM Antoine or myself with these predictions by Sunday at noon. These predictions will help us determine the #1 to currently #13th spot on the draft board.

RULES ARE HERE!!!

Coaster Draft 2012 rules.
1. All players will have 24 hours from the start of their pick. For example the player before you in the draft posts at 3:15pm on a Tuesday. You have until 3:15pm on Wednesday or your pick is forfeited. The first player can still pick after their expired time as long as the second player has not made their pick.
2. You must post the name of the coaster you are choosing as well as the park it is located in. There are multiple coasters with the same name and we don’t want you to have a problem when picking. Please make sure you bold the coaster name and the park it is located in.
3. If you are unable to make your upcoming draft pick due to vacation, sick, etc, please private message the draft coordinators (either Leo C or Antoine). With your number one pick and two other alternatives in case your first pick was chosen.
4. The draft will move forward as planned on March 1st, 2012 at NOON.
5. The draft order is determined by the outcome of the NFL Super bowl. If you do NOT send in your picks for the Super bowl halftime score and final score with winner, you will be automatically moved to the bottom of the list of participants.
6. At the end of the draft, each participant must ADVERTISE their park via their blog on ThrillNetwork. We will make a thread where you can advertise your park. You may also create a link in your signature to advertise your park
7. All participants in the draft MUST vote on the draft. If you do not vote, you may not win. You will have 1 week after the draft ends to advertise and vote on your parks.
8. Draft trades may happen at any time. Both participants must post in the draft thread that they are trading and what they are trading. All trade proposals will done via PM and then announced in the draft thread.
9. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask we will be glad to help. Leo, Antoine, and many of the senior staff have played in the draft before.
10. You may choose ANY operating or under construction coaster in North America (USA, Canada, and Mexico) unless specified by the draft coordinators. This means anything scheduled to open in 2012 may be chosen for the lists.
11. Have fun. The more we’re all in and keep with the timing the more fun it will be. Good luck.

If I'm not mistaken, that is posted when we tell everyone's order. If not, I will see if we can do it. Leo will be in charge of the scores this year, because he knows the set up better.

The predictions for the Super Bowl was given a deadline of Noon EST today. The Super Bowl prediction was going to determine the Draft order. I can't bend from that so your place would be the last one in the draft. If you don't mind this you can stay or even join as a future replacement player.

I know you guys would LOVE to know the order of the 2012 ThrillNetwork Coaster Draft.

Here it is!

The 2012 Draft Order was based on
1. Picking the winner. There was a pool of winning team picks placed before a pool of losing team picks.
2. Score closest to the actual score. The ranking was based on the lowest sum of the differences between the predicted and actual score.
3. There was a tie in the winner's pool between Vince and Jay37415 at a sum of 13. I went to their halftime predictions which were both for the Giants as well and received the same sum of 8. I decided as a third tiebreaker to go with the member's registration date to this site: Vince joined 2/1/10 while jay37415 joined 10/5/11. Vince has more time here so I awarded him the second spot, jay37415 the third

Super Bowl Final Score: Giants 21 Patriots 17 Half Time Score: Patriots 10 Giants 9

Players 1-6 had predicted the Giants as the winner, Players 7-12 predicted Patriots as winner

Somebody correct me if I'm a little off. I've never done fantasy football, but from what I can tell it is a valid comparison.

Yeah they are pretty much the same. We go in order from first to last and as long as the coaster is under construction to open this year or is operating you may choose it.
