    Joe Paterno Penn State Passing

Penn State University Official Athletic Site - Football

Joe Paterno, the long time head coach of Penn State University's football team has passed away. My father and I follow this team. The commonwealth of Pennsylvania is just as much a part of my life as is New Jersey. He was an icon in Pennsylvania and college sports. He is worthy of praise for his career and his giving to the University even as he had fallen for this scandal that has clouded Penn State in recent months.

I found over the years all the smaller cities of Pennsylvania have a character. Pennsylvania has a charm. When you come to Dorney in Allentown, Kennywood in Pittsburgh, Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster with a visit down to Gettysburg, Hersheypark in Hershey, Idlewild and Lakemont Park in Altoona and near Johnstown, Knoebels up near Yuengling in Pottsville, Waldameer in Erie, I hope you guys can spend enough time in Pennsylvania to get a piece of it. I now understand what Pennsylvania and Happy Valley have lost. Continue to shine Pennsy.
