Knoebels kind of put themselves in a bad situation here because now they have to design the car for the track that they already invested time and money in to build. They can't design a working car first and then base the track of the car. Maybe there is a car design that works well but it won't work in the track they already have.

As far as I know, the park has really made this project a "part time" project. The head of maintenance has to build this when he has time, that means all the other rides are fixed, operating, blah blah. From what I understand they have brought in an a person that actually does build trains for roller coasters. I think we should be able to take a spin on this soon. I was there when they announced it, so I will be so thrilled to come back and finally ride it!

I still say they need to name it: Chinese Democracy: The Ride.

It's sad all these headaches made their way to Central PA. No fracking way.

Ring Racer in Germany or the Flying Turns: which is more likely to open?

Sorry to hear you have had line problems with them. Disaster Transport can get a little long, especially with air conditioning, but I won't wait more than 1/2 hr for it. The one at Kings Dominion was a walk on for me. Unfortunately the one at SFOT was closed when I was down there, and I haven't been to the one in NY state yet. Thats the only 4 currently operating in the USA.

Will you get the bobsled in NY? The rumor for the NY bobsled at The Great Escape closing after this season has come up again. Thunderhawk and I rode the Alpine Bobs last year. It looked like it needed paint, rows were closed. It looks like it needs work or it's out.

My money is on Ring Racer. Only thing is that it will not achieve the original advertised speed at all. It won't even reach 3 digits speed which is just sad considering that it used to be billed as the world's fastest roller coaster. But it never reached that speed.

The only one I'm missing is the one at SFOT, and it looks like there is a good chance I will get it this year. I agree Leo, Alpine Bobsled looked like it needed a lot of work to continue being a going concern. I have to say that this ride used to have the greatest name (Rolling Thunder) of any coaster ever, in terms of describing the ride. I actually thought there was a thunderstorm in the area with active thunder. The day was overcast and it sounds a lot like the rumble of thunder off in the distance.

I've always wondered why it took so long for this thing to get finished... that is when it gets finished.
