Coaster/Park Rule Discussion
Private/Personal Messages
Considering the real-time nature of this bulletin board, it is
impossible for us to review messages or confirm the validity of
information posted. Please remember that we cannot actively monitor
all the contents of and are not responsible for any messages posted.
We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or
usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of
any message. The messages express the views of the author of the
message, not necessarily the views of the ThrillNetwork's Message
Board or any entity associated with the ThrillNetwork's Message
Board. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is
encouraged to contact us immediately by email. We have the ability to
remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so,
within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is
necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realize that
we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages
immediately.
In addition linking is permitted on the ThrillNetwork's Message
Board but we cannot actively monitor all the links of and are not
responsible for any links posted. We have the ability to remove
objectionable links and we will make every effort to do so, within a
reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. This
is a manual process, however, so please realize that we may not be
able to remove or edit particular links immediately.
In addition to these message boards you agree to receive email news
letters and periodic emails regarding changes and enhancements to
ThrillNetwork.com, as well as e-mail notices from ThrillNetwork staff
regarding TOS issues, conduct, etc. Because of that, it is required
that you maintain a valid e-mail address on record with us at all times.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use
the ThrillNetwork's Message Board to post any material which is
knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar,
hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening,
invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise breaking any law. You
agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is
owned by you or by ThrillNetwork's Message Board.
GUIDE LINE
The easiest way to decide if the post is ok on ore boards is the
following; if it can be said on Network television (ABC, CBS, NBC) its
ok on the ThrillNetwork's Message Board.
Although the administrators and moderators of ThrillNetwork's
Boards will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum,
it is impossible for us to review all messages. All messages express
the views of the author, and neither the owners of ThrillNetwork's
Boards or Jelsoft Enterprises Limited (developers of vBulletin) will
be held responsible for the content of any message.
Use of these forums you agree and you warrant that you will not post
any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful,
threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.
ThrillNetwork staff reserve the right to remove,
edit, move or close any thread for any reason without notice.
Furthermore, ThrillNetwork staff reserve the right to suspend or
revoke posting privileges of any member for any reason without
notice. While staff are required to exercise restraint in
deciding on an account suspension, there are times where a
suspension would be difficult to justify. In those cases, it
will be sent to the senior staff, who, as a whole, will make
the final decision.
Lastly, ThrillNetwork staff is not required, in any way, to
explain a member's suspension. While it may be done as a courtesy,
ThrillNetwork staff reserve the right to explain any suspension.
1) Signatures – We are well aware that some forums allow signatures with graphics, several lines, and crazy text. Some even allow advertising.
Here at ThrillNetwork, we believe in the user experience. So, to better enhance it, we have created easy-to-follow signature rules, so that the signatures don't cloud out the posts.
In the past, our standard was 3 lines of text in 800x600 resolution. However, because we designed the site around 800x600 resolution, we have done away with that. Our new policy, which is based on a point system, is as follows:
- Everyone gets 8 points for their signature.
- Blank lines and size 1 & 2 are 2 points per line
- Size 3 is 3 points per line
- Size 4 is 4 points per line
- The largest font size determines the number of points for a line.
- Small font size will allow for much more content within the 8 points
- TN staff are allotted 2 extra points since they are required to have their staff title in their signature
- Images, with the exception of forum smileys, are prohibited.
- Links in signatures are allowed to outside sites, provided there is a return link to ThrillNetwork. In addition, internal links (links within ThrillNetwork) are allowed. All other links are prohibited.
- No flaming/spamming/making fun of others in signatures
- ThrillNetwork moderators and administrators reserve the right to edit a member's signature provided a reason is given.
Under the new policy, approximately 98% of all signatures will continue to be in compliance, which is what it was under the old policy. However, the differences are that it allows for a maximum of 4 lines (using small text) and 2 lines using size 4 text.
Also, please do not use the "preview signature" or signature area in the user profile as a guide. The real guide for the signature is what it looks like in the post itself.
2) Links in Post - Links in posts are allowed. There was some
confusion on this. Linking in the body of posts was never disallowed.
Links in posts are a mainstay of message board activity.
3) Advertising - User submitted
advertising, including images and text links, of any kind is not
allowed without prior approval from the editors and
moderators of ThrillNetwork. Any advertising approved or not can
without notice be removed by the Board Administrator.
Furthermore, advertising that is not approved will be subject to
immediate account suspension, contact of your Internet Service
Provider's abuse department, and a bill for advertising.
4) Show off your Site - These are the guidelines
you must follow to post your site to Show Off Your Site on
ThrillNetwork:
a) Any non commercial site is acceptable
b) Before you post your link on ThrillNetwork you must first
add your link to our Web Directory on ThrillNetwork. This betters your
site because you are actually getting listed twice on ThrillNetwork. It
will help us build a great web resource of links.
Add your site here first: web directory
c) After you add your link to the web Directory on
ThrillNetwork then submit your post on ThrillNetwork. In your post
include the link you created in the web directory on ThrillNetwork.
This will verify you added the link. When these steps have been
accomplished we approve your post on SOYS.
d) Once your approved post is activated on ThrillNetwork you
are free to edit out the link to the link in the web directory on
ThrillNetwork.
5) Usernames
a) Creating Multiple Usernames - Members are limited to one
account on ThrillNetwork per person. Creating an additional
username if you are banned, on probation, warnings or other
restrictions, is considered an evasion of these ToS and a swift and
stricter punishment will be placed, including the option that we may
contact your ISP.
b) Usernames containing URLs (.com, .org, .net & etc.) are
not permitted on ThrillNetwork and will be banned and or removed
without notice and will be done retroactively.
6) Coaster/Park Rule Discussion - Any
discussion in the forums, chat, or any other part of the site that
encourages the breaking of any park/coaster rules, has the potential
to result in the harm of any individuals/groups of people, and/or may
potentially violate any local, state, and/or federal law(s) are not
allowed. Such discussion includes, but is not limited to in any way,
picturetaking/videotaping on the ride, defeating restraints (such as
loose or unbuckled seatbelts or "one-click lapbar rides"),
standing up during the ride, illegal downloading/sharing of
warez/crackz/mp3s/emulators, etc.
7) Private/Personal Messages - The forums
provide a quick and easy way to privately communicate amongst members
without the hassles of e-mail and without discussing stuff in the
public forums. However, Private Messages are subject to the governing
rules of the terms of use. As e-mail can be monitored at businesses,
schools/colleges, and ISPs, Private/Personal messages can and may be
monitored by ThrillNetwork Administrators for content.
All of these Terms of Service are subject to change without
notice.
