All of the Orlando theme parks, with the exception of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, reopened this morning after Hurricane Charley blew through yesterday. No attractions at the parks sustained any major damage. Most damage came from wind damage to the landscaping of the parks.
Walt Disney World says that the reason they kept Animal Kingdom closed was because many cast members could not show up for work. Those that did were sent to work at other Disney properties. At Sea World Orlando, a ski show, Shamu’s Happy Harbor and Discovery Cove were all closed due to debris in those areas.
[Ed. Note-I contacted Busch Gardens Tampa and they also resumed normal operating hours today. -BW]
